If you cut the wire that connects to the cluster, then it is disconnected.

so cut it rite be4 it connects to the connecter with all the other wires?

Yes...although it should already be cut. I thought you said you disconnected the stock tach?

yeah i did....rite behind the pcm.....but i would have to hook the stock back ^ and cut it along the cluster and splice it behind the stock guages
