so i'm looking at a 97 neon highline, 2 dr with the dohc motor and 5spd. i've read a bit about these cars and was just wondering if there is anything i should be wary of. i know they had head gasket issues but i'm wondering what areas of the car i should be looking for trouble spots. thanks in advance for the help

 

If the milage is near or over 100,000 miles ask if the timing belt, water pump, and tensioner pulley have been changed. The belt is a 100,000 mile belt and should be changed along with the other stuff every 100,000 miles.
