1999 Dodge Neon and a Cd Changer
i have a really good question everyone , this is my first time installing a cd changer , ihave a 1999 Neon with a stock radio that has cd changer controlls already on it so does that mean that my bus cable from the cd changer with plug into it or does the stock radio require a fm modulator on it ?
my cd changer is a 6 disc kenwood kdc-c662 and i wanna be able to mount it under the seat or maybe in truck alot of people say i need a kenwood radio to controll this cd changer is this true ? or can i use and after market stereo ? poineer , alpine , jvc , etc , and on the back of them are all the bus cables the same where they plug in my is a round bus cable , and i wanna say i seen a square ended one also , my question really is do i need a kenwood stereo to install my cd change or with it work with and after market , or maybe even my stock radio seeing those it does have the cd changer controlls on it ?
and help will be greatly appreciated to this because ive never hooked one up before , ive on done radio s , so help will be good
thank you in advance for everyone that respondes to me .

their are acully 4 types of jacks. the ones used in most factory cars are usually not the round style. car companys like to be a pain in the butt. even if they fit i would suggest changing head units anyway, the sound quality will be better.

your stock radio will only be able to work with the changer controls if the changer is compatible...and there are not very many that are....alpine makes 1 and pioneer makes 1 that i know of other then the chrysler changers.....
commonly though you will probally need to get a kenwood radio becuase though you may see the same jack on alot of other brands, they use different pins so that you HAVE to by their radio to use it....
so anyways, you can get an FM modulator or get a kenwood unit
