Default Air Intake Temp Problem

well the whole idea of a cold air intake, is well...cold air. on a 96' neon of course the aftermarket pipe leads the filter right bove the headers in the back of engine compartment. i already have aftermarket headers which do help to lower engine temp and so forth, still i want to get my intake to pull in cold air, so ive decided tha im going to wrap the hearders withthe exhuat wrapyou see at any auto parts store. is there an easier way to do this or is the wrap not worth it or do i need to just forget about it. idk, just a lil '?'
