I have a 97 Neon Sport with the DOHC. In the past couple weeks I've have had the spark plugs changed, O2 sensor replaced, and the wiring to the torque converter replaced. I'm still getting hesitation on acceleration from a stop. But now I have a new problem. I went to start the car and it was dead. I jumped it and it started. While I was driving it the gauges kept coming on and off and the oil and seat belt lights kept coming on and off. When I got home and shut it off it was dead upon trying to restart. Do you think my battery is dead? Tomorrow I'm having the fuel filter changed in hopes of stopping the hesitating.

Get the battery tested first, then check the thread up top to fix the guage problem you are experiencing.

 

The battery was dead. I replaced the battery and it fixed the gauge problem too. Hopefully tomorrow the hesitating will be fixed also. Thanks for the reply.
