Default Timing control on DOHC

On the DOHC motor, which sensor controls ignition timing? does it go by the cam sensor or the crank sensor? i have a spare timing controller box that you hook up to interrupt the signal and go through the box then to the ECU.( works like an air / fuel controller basically). If the cam sensor defines ignition timing ill hook it up to it so i can fine tune my ign. timing a little. It might get difficult if the crank sensor signal is what controls the sprak timing. Im honestly not sure which one does it. On my mitsu motor its the cam sensor that does it (but there is no crank sensor)& its easy to put the box in.

i dont think anyone knows, lol
Ill just have to take the screws out of the cam sensor and move it and see if the timing changes with a light or if it just runs like ****

CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR
The PCM determines what cylinder to fire from the crankshaft position sensor input and the camshaft
position sensor input. The second crankshaft counter-weight has machined into it two sets of four timing reference notches including a 60° degree signature notch. From the crankshaft position sensor input the PCM determines engine speed and crank-shaft angle (position).

CAMSHAFT POSITION SENSOR
The PCM determines fuel injection synchronization and cylinder identification from inputs provided by
the camshaft position sensor and crankshaft position sensor. From the two inputs, the PCM determines crankshaft position. The camshaft position sensor attaches to the rear of the cylinder head. A target magnet attaches to the rear of the camshaft and indexes to the correct position.

So to answer your question....NEITHER. The PCM regulates ignition timing.
