Default alternator belts

So i did some searching, and found this post
https://dodgeforum.com/m_603942/tm.htm

my alt belt is slipping, so much so that my dash lights dim when it slips. this past weekend i got under the car, and though i tightened the belt. obviously i either didn't do it right, or didn't do it enough. i was expecting to find an idler pully for tension, but there wasnt one. upon inspecting the alternator,I found 1 bolt that had a special nut on the other side andI assumed this was the tension bolt. the bolt was frozen pretty good.

i'm just second guessing myself because i felt like i was breaking the bolt when i turned it. to verify: on the alternator this boltis on the botton towards the crank of the alternator and i had to remove part of the wheel well lining to get to it. the nut on the bolt had a flange welded onto it so that when you turned it from the outside the inside didn't turn.

The proper way to tighten the belt is to first loosen the 15mm bolt that is located near the top of alternator, facing towards passenger side of car. After that bolt is loose, you turn the 13mm bolt facing the rear end of the car...kinda below the airbox. After you adjust alternator with the 13mm..make sure to retighten the 15mm bolt.

On my neon..this whole thing is fed.I replaced my alternator, and my alternator bracket last year. The holes for the bolts in the bracket were wore oblong. Causing the alternator to sit crooked in there, and cause my belt to ride on the pulleys improper.I thought I had everything back in order with new alternator, bracket, and bolts, but after inspecting it the other day.I notice my alternator belt riding halfway off the alternator. It has wore a larger groove in the belt from the outside lip of alternator.Looking at it, it appears to be sitting crooked again.I think the way dodge designed the whole thing is chincy (however you spell that)..

After 2 years of problems with it, I still have'nt found a solution. My tti underdrive pulley could be causing some of the problem, but I cant replace that either, because I let a friend work on my car, and he managed to jam a deepwall socket into my crankshaft, while attempting to get crank pulley off.So my only option at that point was to get the pulley that tighted up around the crankshaft with 6 bolts, instead of using 1 bolt going thru the middle.I have tried ez-outs, drill bits, and anything else I could think of to get that deepwell socket back out...I managed to break it up some....but there is still a good portion of the socket in there...guess Ill wait for alternator belt to fall off, then look at replacing engine.. Unless of course someone smart in here can think of another alternative.

^^^ Is your UDP all the way on? I have seen where if its not all the way on, then it will either snap or work its way off. The MPx UDP I had on my 97 would do that until it was reinstalled. Then it had no problems.

Yes, I made sure it is pushed as far as it can go on the crankshaft. The problem now appears to be the alternator sitting crooked again.I'll try and take a picture asap..When I first put new alternator and bracket in, everything appeared fine.Except it was still squeeling and giving me probs.I would tighten the belt, and it would be good, for a month or so, then I would have to tighten again.I cant think of what would make the alternator sit crooked now...unless it has allready wore another oblong hole in the bracket again.
