The prothane mounts are inserts, not a replacement mount. You will need to get a new or used one and then install the mount.

They are easy to install though. Just need a jack to support the engine when you remove each mount.

i saw them do this in scc magazine but i dont know anyone who has done it themselves. they filled all the gaps in the mount with an anarobic sealer ( window sealer, thick rubbery black stuff) i know that would work at least for a while to stiffen the dampening force... but i cant help but wonder how long that would last. but that would be the same case as with the inserts, you would want a new mount to do it to.

stiffer mounts will make your car quicker correct? my friend said you could drill a hole in them and fill the hole with JB weld and it'll help you get off the line quicker[sm=gears.gif]

They don't make your car quicker, but help eliminate wheel hop, which in turn helps lauches during a race. The stock mounts are soft so that the engine can move and you don't feel the vibration on the inside of the car. But when you stiffen up the motor mounts, the engine will vibrate the car more. So it depends on how much vibration each person can live with as a daily driver.

I haven't heard of JB weld. But drill a hole where?

if u change ur mind u can always use hockey pucks,,,,,my front motor mount has hockey pucks in and it does the job well,,just remove the motor mount put a little gas or lighter fluid on it and melt whats left of the rubber and put the hockey pucks in it and drill the hole,,,really simple,,.
