i contacted a local machine shop that my school deals with...
this is what they tell me....

clean the block- $30
bore .20 overand hone- $12 per sleeve

the only thing is thatthe block will alreadyhave to be disassembled b4 i give itto them todo the machine work, and ill have to take it somewhere to get it assemled with the forged pistons/rods etc.

does that price sound wrong?...is there anything else that need to be done to the block? ive been getting other quotes at other shops and they tell me $600+ for machine work[&:]

 

It all depends if they just charge a flat rate or if they also charge a hourly rate

 

why would it be an hourly rate...shoudnt most machine shops charge by the job....i mean they're not mechanics...

my auto tech teacher said that is about right for that process
