Lots of white smoke from exhaust
There's too much white smoke and not enough shake for a simple spark plug misfire. The air/fuel ratio seems really messed up.
Whats teh gap on the Neons? Standard .32?
Also, the only reason I added engine restore is to see if the gasket is damaged. I am showing none of the symptoms of damaged head gasket, and the engine restore did not help lower the intensity of that cloud... I am pretty sure that I have an o2 sensor issue (these things were never designed to live beyond 100K miles). And if I am going to go through the trouble of getting to the sensors, I would rather replace them than clean them.

But im saying from really weak spark you can get an evenly firingengine, with barely any combustion and it will pour raw fuel out. It doesnt happen often, but ive came across it at least 5 or 6 times. If the plugs are resonable, and it has good hot blue / white spark, then spend the extra money on the O2. You really only need hte 1st one at the manifold, the 2nd o2 doesnt do **** to the a/f ratio, it just monitors the efficiency of the cat.
im just trying to help get a possible cheaper fix. Always start with the simple cheap stuff. Ive seen people dump almost $500 into a car and still not fix anything to end up changing $8 worth of spark plugs and it cured it. Id ont know where peopl get the iadea that cleaning an o2 sensor can fix it. they are a temp sensor. thats all they do. cleaning off the metal on the outside that doesnt do anything cant fix them.

plug gap should be 35 thousanths, if yours are up past 50-60 then that would be a good place to start.
if theyre even up to 40 replace them, but they wont cause it to run quite that bad.
But yea the 2nd o2 sensor (downstream)i wouldnt even bother with. it'll just tell you if the cat works right or not. Is the gas in it any good or stale from sitting maybe?

The first sensor is much cheaper and easier to replace. Thank you for the good news :-)
I am going to change the sparks tomorrow and clean the coil/wires contacts and see how that goes.
We bought the car yesterday so I am not 100% sure about the condition of the gas. It had a full tank of gas and I added a bottle of Chevron fuel system cleaner to help clean anything that could have been dirty there. The seller mentioned that she used premium gas all along thinking I would be happy to hear that (LOL).
I need to get this car through emission inspection, this is why I am quite rushed and willing to spend the few extra bucks on a new sensor.
Finally, this is a good one, I just called a local mechanic and asked him for a quote to replace both sensors. He quoted me $400 for parts and labor saying that each sensor will need an hour of labor. At that point I simply pressed the end-call button on my phone. That was the nicest thing I was able to do.

yea thats about a joke, lol. Youll have to remove the airbox from the back to get to the o2 sensor easy. theres 2 bolts that take a 10mm wrench/socket whatever you use that attaches the mounting bracket to the head. Then its pretty easy to find. its really hard to try to use a 7/8 wrench to get it off so i would get the o2 sensor socket with the side cut out for the wire. They tend to come out easier if you run it and warm it up. Let it cool for about 10 minutes after running so its not too hot and doesnt smear the threads out of the manifold. After you change it disconnect the battery for a few minutes to clear the codes from the PCM. Then start it and let it idle for a while and see what happens from there
Heres a pic of where the o2 sensor is on a DOHC (same idea ona SOHC)
this is the back of the engine, obviously with it removed from the car.
Only pic i have, but it shows you where it is in the exhaust manifold.

Also, I just tried to change the spak plugs... They are DEEP down. How long of an extension do I need to get?
