Looking for a head for my 97 dodge neon dohc. Someone said they have a head off of a 96 eclipse. They say it will fit, I am a little leary and was wondering if anyone else knows if it will fit? Thank You

P.S. How do you get the harmonic balancer off without cutting it? It is 3/4 of the way off and won't budge. Any Tips??

 

the only thing from the eclipse that will fit on the neons....is the valve cover. the cylinder head wont fit because of the fact that the exhaust and intake manifold sides are switched around.

there is a harmonic balancer puller kit that you can rent from advance auto or auto zone, and you'll have to leave a deposit...i used a little heat and hammer to get mine off...but i wouldnt recommend doing that...

 

if the pully is almost off then you might be able to get behind it with a pry bar and pry it off the rest of the way

 

Use a longer insert to get it off. You can use the side motor mount bolt as an insert, but you can mess up the bolt doing this. I didn't, but people have said they have.
