Default catch can

the hose that runs from the valve cover to the stock intake is that necessary that it goes to the intake. so wut im asking is if i could just run the hose into a catch can and nowhere elses. also wut does it do?

It allows your crankcase to breathe and you need to let it breathe. You can replace the tube with a breather filter, but something needs to be there.

That isn't where you put a catch can anyway though.

actually you should put a catch can in there if you have a turbo.....and another on the hose on the other side of the vavle cover.....if no turbo, then no need for a catch can

so all i would have to do is put a little catch can on there and it wouldnt have to be connected to the intake at all or would it still have to be connected?

the catch can just hooks up between the vaccum lines.....take the line and cut it in the middle, then put in the catch can......

but, you can take the hose off of the air intake....put a breather on one end of the catch can, and then the other end of the catch can goes to the valve cover.....

but again, you dont need the catch can unless you have a turbo....otherwise its useless

no it wont hurt anything....as long as you put the little breather filter on the valve cover and plug the hole in the intake tube
