Try this...
Apply the brakes and release, turn the front wheel by hand, open the bleeder screw and turn the wheel again. If it turns again, hydraulic pressure was trapped in the system.

I tried what you suggested and it did not work? Any other advice would be appreciated. Also would it make a difference if the vacuum lines are not hooked up? Thank you in advance.
