Default converting to LED lights

i was wondering if anyone has considered replacing all there old light bulbs with LED lights? i was surfing E-Bay today and found LED lights with the same part numbers as my current lights. i added everything up and it would only cost about $40 or about $30 if you don't mind using this type of LED lights
front turn signals
rear brake/marker lights
back-up lights
dash lights

Just my opinion but that seems like a lot of money for little gain. If you find LED headlights I would be interested.

LED lights have a longer life span than normal lights. they should out live the life of your vehicle. every LED i have seen have said they are good for 100,000hours which is 11 year. they are also more energy efficient. i don't know if that really matters in a truck but it might. i don't think you could find any LED headlights because you would have to replace the glass sealed beam light with a plastic light which would cost a lot of money as apposed to the $10 sealed beam headlight.

i ordered some of the led lights for my dash from e-bay ad they seem to be a bit brighter than stock light bulb and should last way longer. i did also order a 18 led 1157 light to try and it was no brighter than the stock bulbs and they did not seem to work as good as the stock ones. i ended up getting a refund on them.

That's strange, I put in LED on my tail/brake lights and they are much brighter than the stock lights. Maybe you need to run a new ground wire. That could cause dim lights for both types.
Are your dash lights quite a bit more brighter, or just slightly. Mine are dim and I've tried all kinds of things to make them brighter to no avail. I took off the green caps one time but put them back on because they seemed to show an orange color which didn't match the rest of the dash lights. My radio is twice as bright and with my dash lights dim, it drives me nuts.
Any ideas?

the grounds on my lights are good. the problem was the lights. when i bench tested them they seemed to work fine but when i installed them they would not work properly. s
i don't know what type you used in your dash. i know that the white lights i used made the lights look more blue than green and it is a bit brighter than stock bulbs

I used the stock dash lights (#194) for replacement. I thought new bulbs might be better, nope, no dice. Funny old trucks. Do you know of any that would be brighter?
