I have a 1995 Ram 1500 2 wheel drive with the 5.2 engine. It failed the test with high HC and high NOx, the catalytic converter and O2 sensers are good. The truck runs good, no hesitation during acceleration, never stalls, and idles smoothly. I cannot afford to take it to a garage for repairs it may or may not need. Please give me some advice as to what troubleshooting I can do my self first. I am thinking PVC valve and/or EGR valve. The timing feels ok. Any input will be appreciated.

 

My mechanic had to dial my timing way back, and repair some vacuum lines . . . or so he said. Either way, I have a sticker.
