Default 88 Dodge Ram D100 - bed does not drain away rain water....

Just curious - I replaced the shocks in my truck (all the way around), but the bed still sits at an angle such that the rain water collects rather than drains away....is that how it was designed, or am I missing something here?? My temporary solution is to park it w/ the front wheels on some 3" high pavers...gives just enough tilt to drain the water off the bed.....obviously not a huge problem, just thought someone might have a few words to say about it...!!! thx, mike

there should be 3 holes in the front of the bed but they then to get clogged fairly easily.

The largest percentage of the weight of the truck sits on the front suspension. After this many years that load takes its toll on the springs and the truck tends to settle in the front more than the rear. There are many ways to address this but they are not cheap. Locate those drain holes and open them up.

I have a plastic bedliner, and park on a hill. Actually finding a flat spot to work on the truck can be sort of tricky for me, in the middle of hilly western Pennsylvania. Make sure you put some kind of paint on the holes if you need to open them up at all. Other wise you may be looking at a very big drain some time in the future.

The drain holes on my 92 are hard to see. They are kind of a trapezoid shape. Get clogged VERY easy

Shocks won't actually change the ride heigh of any vehicle you need to get new springs to do that.
