Can anyone tell me how to replace the mirror on a 1st gen Ram? You can buy the replacement mirror but I don't know how you get the old one out and put the new one in. The housing and everything is fine, just need to replace the mirror itself. This is for the side mirrors. Thanks for the help!

 

There is a little star bolt holding the housing on. Undo that, and the housing should slide up the post, exposing the mounts. Then from there if I recall you can loosen the bushings/brackets holding the arm of the mirror to the truck. It may just slide out. Or you may have to unbolt the whole mount. Just pull that cover out of the way, and it will make itself obvious. The star key is the only special tool needed. If memory serves, its pretty simple.
