Kickdown adjustment procedure
Hi all
I am tired of having no kickdown in my 1986 w150 318. It is annoying not to have kickdown when hauling a cattle trailer on the highway. I was wondering if anyone knew how to adjust the kickdown linkage on the 727. I had someone press the gas pedal to the floor while I was under and I noticed that the arm that goes into the transmission does not push all the way back. Should this go all the way at full throttle?
Thanks
Gerry

First adjust your bands
second install a Transgo reprogramming kit With the Back to Low mod
third- use the procedure in your service manual
do you have cable or rods for KD?
You do have a big cooler? right?
a deep pan from a 518-46 re-rh will help also
get a spacer to space down the filter
adjusting your linkage will also adjust your shift points
if not adjusted enough your trans can slip under load- so get it done
