I cant really speak to the lack of power comment- Mine wasnt stock. I ran a little hotter cam, had the heads decked, gasket matched and larger valves installed, headers and ran a chevy 4.3 throttle body.[/QUOTE]
OTOH, I drove one with a 4.3 and it honked comparatively! And the 4.3 Vortech was killer in the newer Blazer.

Ford Triton, and Ford 6.0/6.4/6.7 powerstroke. Duramax included. Fords 7.3, either IDI or Powerstroke seemed okay.

I disagree with the slam on the Tritons... I've had a great deal of experience with 2 5.4L Tritons, none of which blew a spark plug, none of which ever had any motor malfunctions, and both had considerable more power than the 360 Magnum....

Spot on about CrapoMax though

I can't speak for the IDI diesel but the Powerstroke 7.3 was more than okay. With proper maintenance, you could get 800,00+ miles out of it. And I can't say I've heard anything bad about the new 6.7 Powerstroke, just the 6.0 and 6.4.

Maybe I should say the V10 Tritons. I can outrun any V10 Triton with a 360.

I've actually never had a IDI, but I know quite a few people who have, and everybody likes them - they can hit 500,000 miles before a rebuild with proper maintenance. Only catch with the IDI is that SCAs are required.

Detroit 2-cycle diesel can beat the Cummins on that...

I find that hard to believe since 2 strokes don't have the best known reliability.

Who ever told you that? I call BS... 2 strokes are very reliable. IF they are maintained as a 2 stroke.

I guess you've messed with better 2 strokes then I.
Them suckers run hot as hell and burn through fuel far quicker than a 4 stroke.
