Default 1981 Dodge D150 Stepside

So I've inherited this truck and I'm curious to find out a little about it. From searches I haven't found much info on it, or available parts. For the most part it doesn't need a ton of work but I'm coming from an older Ford that I was able to basically find any NOS or replica part I needed from LMC or similar.

A quick search around the net shows Dodge support is much more lean, or I don't know what I'm doing. I haven't found any info at all on there actually being stepsides for 1st gens. I've known this truck for over 25 years and its always had it, so if it got this box after the factory it would have been fairly early on.

I'm hoping for info on the box, as it needs some work in the steps and the taillight boxes are rusting.

that looks like a 70's box but someone has welded some other tail lights to the box. rockauto is a good place to get some parts. there are some parts that are only available at junkyard if you can find them.

Intersting, I though it looked familiar. I imagine getting a bed in decent shape for this is going to be next to impossible. Would an early series bed fit this truck? I imagine I'd have more luck trading this bed to someone with an earlier truck.

Good looking truck! I also have a stepside with the factory tail lights, but the lenses are in need of replacement. Where would be the best place to find them?

I haven't scouted for this truck much yet so maybe others can chime in, but I do now in Spring 2014 LMC will finally have a catalog for our trucks and they'll have repro's for sure of things light lamps.

A local discount store near me has tail lights that look very similar. A google shopping search for "universal jeep tail light" returns promising results. They might not be exact, but I don't think I'd notice the difference, having never owned a dodge step-side.

I like the truck. I also feel you can find anything stock for it either in stock or a link away. Especially when LMC comes out with their catalouge.
