1985 Ram 50 headlight problems

Default 1985 Ram 50 headlight problems

hey guys im a die hard Dodge man and am new to the ram area on dodgeforum.com but anyway i got a question my little ram 50 is having a headlight problem to where when iturn the **** to the on position they do not turn on the parking lights come on but nothing else EXCEPT when i pull the lever to turn on the brights then they stay on but only for as long as i holdit out towards me as soon as i let go they totally shut off(parking lights remain) i put in a new relay and it STILLdoes not work its really ticking me off anybody kno what to do? o and by the way where can iget a lift for my little truck cause i wantit to sit like a REGULAR ram lol but sorry if this is confusing

It is probally the switch itself. DO you have a schematic for it?

ive got some kind of manuel for it i forgot where its at around here but i think so

If you just try the part then you don’t need one, but if you want to troubleshoot it correctly, you should use one and a mutlimeter (or a test light if you don’t have one). If you do not own a schematic, a repair manual or a “Chilton’s’, you can usually find one at the local library’s reference section and photocopy the pages you need. If you don’t know how to read one or use this equipment, I’d suggest you find a friend that can help as I can’t give you a step-by-step long distance. Good luck.
