Default Noob here with a question

hey just wanted to say hi, im the noob on the block. i dont have a dodge yet, but am looking to buy one and then would be a regular. i am looking at buying a 88' dodge ram 50 "custom" i think it said custom. it has 118k miles and in good shape. my question is what kind of problems could i expect with the age and miles. also do you think i would have any problems driving it 900 miles split between 2 days pulling a u haul trailer. i am moving and am looking to save money by buying a truck and hauling vs. a uhaul and rediculous gas for it. also what is typical gas mileage. i think the motor is the 2.0. any help is appreciated...thnx

You'd be better served by finding a Mitsubishi forum. Seriously.. there's like 6 guys who post once or twice who have Ram 50's and none of us regulars can help them because it's a re-badged Mitsu Mighty Max truck.

What I can say is this: I hope you're not hoping to tow a big trailer.

One way to save money with rental trucks is to rent it as a business instead of as a retail customer. Be prepared to show some sort of business credentials, but don't offer them up - last time they didn't ask me for mine. I'm not sure if it works for 1-way rentals, but if you're returning to the same place then it is significantly cheaper depending on the mileage. I don't rent u-haul though, only Penske/Ryder
