Default Electrical help with my 84' pickup

Hello all! My 84' pickup has 318 4bbrl and when it gets to normal temperature it doesn't want to die when I shut it off so I put it in gear to kill it. Any suggestions?

Thanks

While you are checking your timing, make sure your idle is not too fast.
