How in the world do you get to the distributor holddown bolt?
I need to adjust the distributor on my 92' Dodge D150 with a 5.2 engine. I can seethe bolt head but I can't get it loose with a distributor wrench and I don't see any way of getting a wrench or socket on it. What is your secret to getting to this bolt?
Thanks
Thanks
I used to use a 1/4" socket wrench with a short extension, but then I bought a distributor wrench (the U shaped thing, we're talking about the same thing right? box end at a 90 then straight about 8" then another 90 and a 8" or so handle?)
Shoot some WD or something on it.
Shoot some WD or something on it.
Lay a heavy blanket or something over the hood catch etc so you can get right over it without tearing your guts out. I have the special wrench now also but before that I could get it with a short socket and a universal on a 3/8 flex ratchet with a extension. Make sure you use a six point since they are usually tight and strip easy. Put some anti seize on it when you put it back in also. take care
