What year of truck do you have? 4wd or 2wd? If it has a speedo cable then it will screw into the transmission or the transfer case towards the rear. Should be the only large cable back there. If it is a new enough truck (not sure when they changed over) it could have a speedo sensor that will plug into a wiring harness. If it is a cable you can take the instrument cluster out and pull out the speedometer core which is replaceable. If it is too damaged or frayed it might be stuck and you'll have to replace the entire cable assembly. Go to www.autozone.com, put in your year and model, then search for speedometer cable or speedometer sensor and see what it shows.

It's a 1992 1/2 ton 2 wheel drive with an auto overdrive tranny. The cable should plug into the rear on tranny or right by bellhousing. I did find one but it's the throttle kickdown coming from throttle body not dash. I found a round thing that has wires running to it but no cable. So could this be it?
