I have a 92 Ram D250 Diesel (78K original)when I am at idle after driving the oil pressure is dropping to L and the oil lamp light is coming on. As long as I am on the gas the pressure maintains. Also the engine (diesel) knocks more when at idle. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

 

Low oil? btw, low oil pressure is one of the worst possible things for a diesel engine. Get it checked asap, or you'll have a nice piston sized hole in the side of it.

 

check oil pressure any noticable drop in performance? alot of variables oil pump possible?
