Poor gas mileage 1985 318
Hi all.. my first post.
I have a 1987 Ram 150 that was getting 14-15 mpg now all of a sudden it's getting 10 mpg.
I had the carb rebuilt but the mileage is still about 10 mpg hiway.

Oh heck how up-to-date's your basic maintenance ?
Air filter, fuel filter, oil and filter, spark plugs and wires, cap and rotor, pcv valve, breather cap.
Might as well do the trans fluid and filter.
If you get nice high performance parts it will run you 2-300 but I used to get 14mpg in my 1986 D-250 pulling a 6x12 trailer, 17+ otherwise.
The other thing is you need to take it easy on the throttle, that's the secret to low compression engines but in your case it's probably a simple out-of-date maintenance issue.
