Default cracks
has anyone successfully stopped the frame from twisting andcracking around the steering box on your 70's era truck?

My friend has a 1973 1/2 ton that i am looking at buying. Is this a recuring problem with all 70's trucks, his isn't cracked and hasn't ever been touched. I didn't know this was a problem.

it is a problem on all 1st gens...i have a friend who is attempting to build a kit for weld in gussets to brace this area..not to mention help handling

You might try this brace also...it was introduced around 1986 along with a thicker steering gear box bracket.
