Default towing with an 89 W250

I have an 89 W250 with a 318 tbi setup. The only performance modification that will be done to the truck will be high flow exhaust system. (3 in single exhaust with a high flow cat and a flowmaster muffler). Basically I was wondering what you think would be a safe weight range for this truck to pull. We are looking at getting a camper some time next year and I wasn't to sure what weight range this truck would be able to handle. I figure the truck should be able to handle 6500-7000 lbs.

It all depends on how fast you want to go. I pulled 4,000 lbs. worth of car and parts with a two dolly behind a '91 S10 with a 2.5L 5spd. Just didn't go over 50mph.

I have an '81 W150 with a stock 318/auto. I've pulled a few vehicles with a tow dolly. The largest was an '84 3/4 ton Ford van. I could tell there was a load back there but not bad. Also had around 3,200 pounds worth of engines and car parts on a single axle large utility trailer and probably 6-800 lbs in the truck bed. The truck had to work on the hills but it did the job fine and at 65-70 mph. My engine is pretty worn out too.

I have a 96 150 with a 318. My camper is 25 ft 6200lbs loaded. I've pulled at 75MPH, but not up hills! Depending on the grade of the hill, expect around 50MPH tops.
