Default 93 cummins steering column

I have a 93 d250 cummins 4x4 139,000 miles. quite a few years ago the left front of the truck was hit, partially loosening and damaging the steering column. It has been partially / unsuccessfuly repaired by an alignment shop at that time. Now the coumn extending back and up out of the steering gear box is loose both radially and fore and aft. would it possible to repair the portion of the steering column on the engine side of the firewall without replacing the entire steering column i.e. steering wheel ignition etc.? its a std transmission if that matters
