What am I doing wrong????
Ive looked and looked for a casting number on my block, but I cant find one. My trucks VIN says that Im supposed to have a 318/2-barrel. My motor does have a two barrel but someone made a homeade plaque that sys dodge powerhouse 360. I finally looked up the location of were the numbers are supposed to be, said they were under my driverside head on the front of the block. There are no numbers there and it is the original texture so i dont belive they have been ground off. Will someone please help me? What other locations might they be in? Is there any other way to find out what kind of motor I have?
Thanks,
James

Ok, I have another question. My truck transmission shifts into 3rd at only 35. Can I just adjust the kickdown cable like other vehicles? Also, Im planning on buying a performance transmission, which is better, 727, or 904?

as far as which transmission is better i couldn't tell you. I can tell you that your transmission shifting into third at 35 mph is about where it should be. Any transmission is adjustable. Some just can be a royal pain in the you know what to change shift points.

I was just wondering because most of the speed limits around here are 45. When running at 45 to 50 my rpms are quite high, I only drove it on the highway twice at 65 and my fuel mileage was horrible. Is there enough adjustment to safely make the engine run at lower rpmsto maybe be able to drive it on the highway at 65, or would it be better to just get different gears?

just wondering, will the casting number give an idea which carb is on it? or should I look on the carb for an identifying number? they had a few carbs on the 318(which is what I believe I have), and I need to know which one it is for a rebuild kit.
