Default 318 D150 TC replacement

tomorrow i'm going to tackle trying to drop my tranny and replace my torque converter, question is how hard of a job is it actually changing it ? i know how to take the tranny out but as far as unboltingg the TC from the flywheel etc etc how is that done an how big of a bitch is it going to be ? also how can i tell which tranny i have, 727 904 or 999 ? i'v been told about the 14 bolt oil pan but that dont tell me nothing, i know on some GM models you can tell by certian letters in the VIN, does this also apply to dodge ?

Four bolts hold the tc to the flywheel but there is only one way it goes on due to the bolt pattern, use a light color paint and spray the flywheel/tc before removal and match it up to the new tc and mark it,on assembly make sure tc is seated all the way in the tranny, mounting blocks should be recessed inside the bell housing.
Pan shape on 904 is square with a corner missing.
