Default wanting some guidance on my w150

I have a 92 w150 318 4x4 and I am starting to plan out some future performance mods now...

I have already replaced the O2, idle air control motor and water pump. When I did the water pump I went to an electric fan, then replaced all my rubber coolant hoses and threw in a 180 thermostat. The truck came with headers and some rediculous pipes out the back of the truck so I cut em off and went to simple turndowns at the rear axle.

Anyhow I am starting a plan what I want, I just need some guidance (cam size and duration) I have done a lot of work with OHC cars and whatnot, but this is my first american project. So far the only think I know I want for sure is the edelbrock airgap with the kit from Hughes engine performance... other than that I dunno.

I dont tow anything and never will, and I do somemild off-road driving. I am also planning a 2.5 inch lift and stepping up to 33's but I want the engine right first! Its a manual and a magnum if that makes any difference.... so what mods in what order would you guys suggest?

You change the motor out, I didn't think magnums came in the 92's. You won't get 33's under it without some fender trimming either. You should go with a 6" lift then you have room to flex. I had a 2.5 inch lift and 31-12.5x15 on 15x10 rims was about all I could fit without any rubbing at full flex. Try a set of ported and polished 360 heads those will help also.

I would suggest talking to Hughes since you are considering some of their components and see what their recommendations are.

yeah '92 was the first year of the magnum. talk to hughes directly, see what they say, but then talk to some mechanics and engine builders too. talk to other people that dont work for Hughes haha! learn from other peoples mistakes before you go blow your **** up or somethin like that. look at your options then see what you can get for the best deal, or what is going to be the best in the long run.
