Default Any way to tighten column auto linkage?

Okay, I am just starting out on my 1985 D100 shortbed. Is there any way to make the indicator on the dash a little more accurate? I feel like okay, maybe it's in D, maybe 2. who knows. Just a general clean and lube? Are there plastic bushings somewhere that I should look at? The truck has sat for quite a while now. I plan to do tranny fluid and filter change when the weather warms up along with all the other fluids and filters.

Hey T long time no hear ,lol.
It attaches to the collum via a small cable that just clips on and spring tension that pulls it to park, you might need to check the tension and you can move the clip to position the indicator where you want it.
