I want More Power out of my 2.0L
I have an ‘83 Dodge Power Ram 50 4x4 with the 2.0L & 4-speed Trans. (D50)
I recently blew the head gasket, and now I have the opportunity/need to do a rebuild.
The head was cracked in three places along the valves, so I bought a remanufactured head, and now I’m pulling the block out to have it gone though, resurfaced, replace the piston rings, new soft plugs, some paint on the block… etc.
The engine was already gutless; 50mph downhill was about the maximum I could get out of her on a good day.
Previously I had the OEM Carb rebuilt, but everything in it still looked worn from years of (ab)use.
I was thinking about going with a Weber 32/36 or the 38mm to replace the old gas-sucker.
How would I go about squeezing some more power out of her on the engine rebuild without going too crazy with expenses?
I’d like to use this existing engine and not really wanting to go to something else.
Any suggestions?
