Default Popping or knocking in front end

I was just going to go to the store when i went slow down and the front end made a knocking or popping noise. It sounds like somerthing is being hit by something continuously. Onlyu happens wheni hit a good hard hole or bump, when braking, or when making a rigt turn. Any ideas?

No 2WD, i got a local mechanic to hang his had out the window whie i drove, Said it sounded like it was coming from rear, not front. So i got home and took both rear drums off and nothin loose or broke. Looked underneath and saw exhaust laying on rear u-joint. Took a sawall to it and voila!!!! No knocking.
