sometimes it charges sometimes it dont, i had the alt ck it was good, they say that the smec is bad, it has the reg, built in, i dont know, sometime it throws a code of 41, it done this when i stoped quick at one time, and when i started the truck and let off the key to quick, and it didnt start, ck eng light came on...

 

hey code 41 is "generator field not switching properly" which i had oncewhen i left the lights on anmy battery died. I charged the battery and never had the problem again.which means this code -could- be unrelated to yournon charging issue, but it probably is

or maybea PCM failure, though i dont think

they did say the batt was low,maybe i should charge it...its starts up fast, what about the smec they also said that has the reg built in the unit, its a 90 amp 2 pulley Chrysler alt...

 

my book says 41 is problem with charging system,occurs when battery voltage from the asd relay is below 11.75 volts... what ever thats means..

 

just an up date... i jot another smec from a bone yard, and that fixed it... that not the brightest idea they came up with....
