Gear Selector

Default Gear Selector

On my 85 D150 with a 318, 4 speed auto,,,,,the gear indicator needle is off, for example in reverse it says Park and Drive is Neutral,,,,any ideas how to repair, im thinking the spring is just getting old and worn out like everything else

The clip might have moved also.
Seeing that the needle goes back to park,it may be the clip is out of place.

I didn't think Dodge had a four speed automatic in trucks in 1985. A lockup torque converter feels like another gear though.
