Default Removing muffler

If I remove the muffler on an 87 d150 will I need to turn the remaining pipe end downward toward the road or will it be fine as is? I heard that you wanna turn down the pipe for fumes.

Default RE: Removing muffler

i cut mine off RIGHT in front of the muffler. It was loud as heck insisde the cab too. gave me headaches. i had no prob with fumes though and mine is extended cab. so if reg cab then youll be fine too. but get a turnout and get it out from under the cab or youll me driving yourself crazy all day when your driving. plus it sounds better out the side straight piped then underneath.....
