Default Ram Overcharging !

Help !
I took my 85' W250 360 / auto 4x4 out to get my trailer tonight and noticed my charge guage was way over on the charge side. When I got there , I noticed the battery was overheated . I checked the voltage across the battery and it was as high as 17 volts ! I pulled the field wire and headed home (without the trailer )and tried another couple of regulators , no change . I also found the center wire connector on the voltage reg connector was screwed , replaced it too , no difference . Guess it`s my 105 Amp alternator ? Anybody have this happen ?

Tried a new regulator , nope . Popped for a new 100 Amp alternator , Bingo !
Never had an alternator go "super nova " on me before . 18 volts across the battery , 33 volts across the leads to the battery with the battery out !!!!!
WOW !
