86 Dodge W350 - Wont Start, Please Help!
Hellp Group,
I have an 86 Dodge W350 with a 5.9L 360 V8. I was driving it across my parking lot and accidently popped the clutch and now can't get it to restart...
I have tested, and come to the following: I tested for spart right at the top of the ignition coil and only get the first spark when I very first start to crank it over...as I continue to crank it over it will NOT continue to fire, just the first spark, then when I go to switch the iginition back to the "off" position it will spark once more...
Now, for those to know, I have ALREADY done the following: Tested the iginition coil and it tested OK, even so I did even replace it with a spare I had on hand, just in case and still got no start;
I tested the electric iginition control box and it testes ok and I replaced it with my spare and still nothing;
I replaced the rotor button and distributer cap and spark wires and plugs, still no spark;
I tested the distributer pickup coil and it tested OK (single pickup) and even swapped out the distributer with a spare and still nothing...so I cranked it over and watched my oil pressure to make sure that the distributer shaft/oil pump gear was still ok and yes, I had oil pressure and even watched the rotor and watched it spin ok... The distributer is NOT in backwords and it has timing checks ok... Also traced all the power wires and grounds and all are ok with NO open circuits or shorts and all good grounds... I replaced the starter relay also and still no spark..??
So, does anyone have any other suggestions of what it might be or what to check? I am stumped and too stressed out about it, since it is my truck and cant figure it out, anyone please help if you can... I have read and reread my haynes service manual and cant come up with anything...

This truck does not have the clutch safety switch as it is a manual trans. the safety switch is only on automatic trans. The ballest resister on the firewall was also replaced, forgot to mention that.. and I did already try installing a new ignition switch and still nothing...
Should fire if the dist. is turning,jumped chain or no. Got 12v at the coil+ when cranking? Take a test light and poke the {black?} wire from the pickup coil. Should get 1 spark every time you do. The ign. box is looking for a change in resistance to signal it to fire. {ohms.You can signal the box with a points type dist. beleive it or not} If it won't spark by poking either wire,check the harness between the pickup coil and the box.
Got two circuits,start-run. Have you tried to crank it with the key in the on pos. by jumping the starter relay?

***UPDATE*** As of yesterday, I finally figured it out and why everything ecectrical tested ok... The problem was the air gap setting on the pickup coil in the distributer, it was set to wide on all the distributers I had and I reset it to factory specs and fired right up! Thanks to all who viewed and posted suggestions for help!
