Gangsta lean
My truck has the gangster lean on the drivers side. Been this way since i bought it and finally thought i fixed it. New springs and shocks brought the two sides(from ground to top of wheel well) about an 1/8th inch from one another. No biggy, just the difference of the cab bushings. Well over the last two months it has sunk past where it use to be and it's starting to **** me off. I had it alligned when the springs and shocks were installed and now the tire on the passenger side is wearing the outside edge faster then the inside. Almost bald and the tire are two months old! So i ask around about ideas on the probelms cause. They range from balljoints, bad alignment, rear leafs twiting frame, some good ideas. But while under the truck looking for my recently discovered oil leak i g.rabbed the strut rod on the driver's side. It's loose as hell! So i ask another local mechanic who i have had good results with. He tells me that the bar is his best guess as to what is causing the lean. Turns out the bushing is worn. Would this indeed cause this problem? I am goint to chew the alignment guy a new ******* and ask him about the bars status when he did the alignment. Then i went back to the guy (my old auto shop teacher) who said something about the rear springs twisting it. He said that if he ahd known about them being loose then he would have definately diagnosed it as that too. But at the time I didn't know about it being loose. Again could this affect height, and can i replace the bushings without alignment again? P.S- i'm going to align it again because of the tire problem anyway. Any help would be appreciated.
I just want to make this truck a street machine. So i figured i fix the problems before i start customizing it. Any suggestions. I found out my alignment was knocked out by the strut rod being loose.Getting this repaired, realigned and then new rear shocks. Again any suggestions.
