Default Transmssion Swap - 727 Out - NP435 In

Looking to swap 727 auto trans out of 1976 Power Wagon (with 400 V-8) and replace it with NP435 4 speed. Looking for any info on this swap, as well as a source for parts.

Ideally would likely to obtain a junked out truck to get all required parts.

Thanks

Dan

First problem to watch for is the lack of a finished pilot bushing hole in the crank. 90% weren't drilled by the mid 70s. A 400 with the finished to size pilot bushing hole is even more scarce. A bushing that fits the register where the torque converter hub goes used to be available, not sure if it still is. May require shortening the input shaft journal a little to keep it from bottoming in the crank. A machine shop can build you a bushing, easier than pulling the crank and having it drilled.

For just about any trans/tranfer case swap you can dream up it's probably here: http://www.ramchargercentral.com Old site, lotsa info.
