Default new dodge guy with problems!!

hello everyone! im new to dodge trucks and im running into alot of problems!! i have a 1984 dodge 4x4 with a 360. the problem i have now is that you can drive the truck a couple miles and she will run out of gas but you a jump out and put some gas into carb and she'll crank up and go a couple more miles. ive changed the fuel pump and filter.can anyone help me in trying to solve the problem please???

Sounds like maybe the sock on the pickup tube in tank is plugging up, or something in the tank floating around. Also just for grins leave the gas cap loose and see what happens. Actually seen that one once on an old Ford I had. Wrong cap, tried to suck the tank flat. Or maybe a rotten rubber line someplace sucking air. Hanging carb float.

Too cool this time of year for vapor lock problems unless the line's too close to a heat source. Or if you live in Death Valley lol.

thanks! i have taken the gas cap off and it does the same thing. ive got another carb gonna try that next.then i guess i'll drop the tank.

Might be easier to pull the bed. 8 bolts,3 screws,tailight wires.

Flexible line to the fuel pump could be collapsing internally shutting off fuel to the pump.
