Thumbs up Got It!

Friday,

Well, Friday night I got off work at 7:00pm to go pick it up. We worked on it for an hour then it started getting dark so we called it quits untill Saturday. What were we working on you ask?....well, first the battery was stone dead so we had to get a different one, then it was out of gas and needed to run to the station and get 5 gallons. Started right up...shes cold blooded so we let it idle for about 10 mins. All of a sudden their was gas running ALL over the passenger side of the fender.

These.....

When it had the engine fire it burned up some vacuum lines. Well the guy just pluged them all and figured that would be okay...wrong. Finally figured out where to put the vacuum line so it would stop leaking then it died again. Okay, this is when we decided to wait untill Saturday.

Saturday,

Went their at 9:00am and we called up AAA. They came and picked it up and delivered it to my house. (he had AAA+ so it was free)

We got the truck off and I figured what the heck, might as well see if we go tit right last night so I put in a different battery, pumped it once, ahhh...she purrs. Well I drov it down the road and back with no problems. After that I decided to take the hood off and start looking into re-wiring everything and figuring out all the vacuum lines. Thats how she sits now. I will be busy all this week and the next but hope to at least tinker with it here and their....

more pics....

We can only hope. I just need it to get from point A to point B. When I'm done with it it should be able to do just that and I wont have to wonder if its ever going to make it or not, I hate vehicles like that.

I want to get rid of the 16.5 wheels I have on the truck. I was told that the ford 16" wheels 8 bolt pattern is the same and will work.... can anyone verify this for me or done a swap?

If I recall correctly the center hole is smaller on the Ford rim then the Dodge. I believe you have to use Chevy rims. That is if you are using stock steel rims, otherwise measure the diameter of the center hole. I know the bolt pattern works on either.

I know that the 5 lug 4x4 ford rims will fit a Dodge, but not sure on the 6 lug rims.

Well shy of drilling two more holes, I don't see any way a 6 hole rim will fit an 8 bolt truck. I was refering to 3/4 ton chevy, sorry for the confusion. As for the Ford rims fitting the half tons, I haven't paid much attention to the newer stuff, but the center holes were too small on the ford 5 holers as well. If we are speaking of stock steel wheels. But the 5ers from jeep used to fit.

Yes I am talking about the steel 8 lug wheels. Trying to find one to fit thats not a 16.5 I will messure the center hole and go from their. thanks tho. So it seems that the Chevys are my best bet at the moment then. Just have to find out. Thanks again.
