I have a /6 in my 80 pickup with a 3spd and OD on the floor. Mileage @ 99,991 Runs great and I get about 20mpg on average. I plan on putting headers and a carter 2bbl on it and leaving as is. No need to mess with the leaning tower of power since it will last 3 lifetimes atleast. Might as well since I have a blown manifold gasket and a vaccum leak on the carb.

2bbl would be the best bet, a 4bbl is overkill for a /6.

ok guys, just two more things, i didn't get to start running the parts yards yet, if i can't find a 2bbl intake & carb, can they be purchased new, all i see is 4bbl items.

and, the heat valve flapper, in my exhaust man. has broken welds, and the shaft spins freely, does this part serve a purpose, or can it be removed, heat valve & flapper, also can you tell me the size & lengths of the 3 intake to exhaust manifold bolts, i broke mine taking them out.
i guess this is 3 things, sorry.

85slant6 go to http://www.slantsix.org/forum/index.php and search and read. That site is a wealth of info on slant sixes. This forum is good for truck info.I have used both forums to great advantage.
