i cant stress enough how gentle you must be with the AIR pump lines (if you have them). They are in the way of the driver side cover and if you pry on them too much youll brake them right off the manifold (like i did). a bitch to fix.

5 bolts per side,remove the breather,pcv valve.
The brake booster may make the drivers side cover a little tough to get off but it will come off.

lol. 5 or 6. nuts or bolts. just the sort of details i get wrong. they go back on with 90 inch-lbs. the brake booster was in the way, but with a little finessing i didnt have to remove it.

as for removing the plugs, what it says is remove the plug WIRES. they get in the way, and also clip onto a bracket which is attached to the passenger side valve cover. you just have to unplug the wires by pulling the boot off the plug. be sure to label them.

dont do it if you arent confident. But if you like to get your hands dirty this is an easy job. just pay attention to what you take off, where it goes, do it slowly, apply the sealant, fit the new gasket, and do it all in reverse, one side at a time.

it looks like it would be easy, just take the air filter off and the take the overs off.the pass side will be harder bc of the heater hoses.i want to do this myself.i have done plugs before 3 or 4 times and put on a egr valve on my wifes van.about tighting the bolts up also i am not sure about.

Use good gaskets and some will argue this but do not be afraid to use some permatex and do not over tighten the bolts.

i second the use of a liquid gasket stuff. the block will be all pitted and that will fill it. and help with adhesion
