Default Battery drain from brake light circuit.

New to the forum and have a huge problem on a 1984 dodge pick-up with slant-6 engine and 4spd trans. I have a battery drain that occurs when I keep the fuse in the brake light circuit. It appears that when the fuse is out of the brake light circuit, the battery drain is stopped. When the fuse is in the circuit the brake lights appear to work correctly, with no other problems that I am aware of except the battery drain. Any advice that you folks may have is greatly appreciated. I am at the end of my very limited mechanical/electrical experience. Jeff
