Default New to Forum and a Fuel Problem 150 Ram

Hello all, I just purchased a '92 150 Ram with a fuel injected 318 auto (100,000 miles). It ran really well at first and then it started dumping fuel. It looks like it is burning diesel out the exhaust, now. I completely tuned it up cap, wires, rotor, pcv, etc... Still ran terrible replaced the EGR, mass sensor and the one next to it on the throttle body, the TS something sensor can't remeber off hand. At idle in neutral/park it runs like a gem however, get some heat in to it and goes south.

I'm out of ideas, any suggestions?

RD

Moparborn, Codes pointed to the 2 sensors I mentioned previously and fuel pressure check out. the fuel filter appears newer and no leaks that we can tell. I mean it really runs rough starts caming and lunging. I need to get a manual but is their a fuel pressure sensor up front by the throttle body? RD

Have you looked inside the throttle body when you rev it a little to see the spray pattern of the injectors?

Pulled a vac on the fuel pressure regulator and appears this may be the answer it wasn't pulling any vac. I'll check the fuel harness for any grounding.

SEAL, what kind of spray pattern should I be looking for?

Thumbs up

Well the mystery is solved. It was the temperature sensor up front along with the O2 sensor. My understanding is that it is what controls the fuel for the electronic choke on cold start up it kept sensing that the motor was cold and just kept dumping fuel. Replaced it and it helped alot still ran rough. So, I replaced the O2 sensor. Runs like a charm now.

Gentlemen thanks for the help and input.

I'll be around
