The simple answer is-- they pull straight off. But first you have to swing the small locking arm/wing out of the way first. A small mirror like a dental mirror is ideal for viewing the backside of those arms. If it hasn't been off since new it will take a bit of gentle rocking and pulling, but go easy. With that mirror, you will see a space between the arm and the hub it sits on, squirt some oil in there and let it sit for a day or so. There is a tool which grabs the arm base and attempts to wiggle it off at an angle...........never found it that effective. Put some antiseize on those hubs when you are ready to re-install the arms.

my 91 is like lilredx's. i dont know what these plastic bushings ive heard talked about here and elsewhere. theres just a little steel arm that swings on a rivet in and out of a recess on the wiper arm stud to lock/unlock it. i had to tap a flathead screwdriver with a mallet into the little arm to get it in the "open" position. then lots of gentle wiggling, felt like it was getting nowhere and then suddenly popped out.

Tool.. are you sure you got them on the right side? They are marked "L" and "R" Could be different lengths...... Can't check mine until tomorrow.

Nem.. the bushings are in the wiper linkage underneath the cowl vent grille. If you have excessive play in the arm movement then they need changing. The wipers are very sloppy when those bushings wear.

If the bushings wear all the way out the linkage drops off and instantly-no wipers!
Oh, oh. Sorry for the double post.

They only lasted 21 years on my 87 D100 and 87 5th ave. both.
